Vision / Mission / Goals

Greenpeace stands for positive change through action. We defend the natural world and promote peace. As a global organisation, Greenpeace focuses on the most crucial worldwide threats to our planet's biodiversity and environment.

We investigate, expose and confront environmental abuse by governments and corporations around the world. We champion environmentally responsible and socially just solutions, including scientific and technical innovation. We promote open, informed debate about society's environmental choices.

We use high-profile, non-violent direct action, research, lobbying, and quiet diplomacy to pursue our goals and raise the level and quality of public debate as the catalyst for change.

What we currently do in the way of marketing

In order to maintain our independence to advocate only for the best interests of the Planet, Greenpeace does not accept donations from corporates or governments or Pokies funding. This means we rely on individuals for funding. It also means we can't afford the marketing and advertising campaigns we would like. That said we did get a few free TV ads last year - "Keep our Oceans Alive" done for us by Mojo.

Message to Students / How you can help

Well we need smart young things to help us! Climate change is the biggest issue the world faces and we only have 10 years to massively turn around public thinking and behaviour (and governments and corporations). This means now is the time to be a part of the solution!

Our office is young and funky but in need of some help to get our ideas out there through new media (because we can't afford to pay for the media).

We are not averse to taking risks and we are ready to revolutionise our ways of working by going full scale into new media endeavours to mobilise as many Kiwis as possible to take action with us to stop climate change.
